Leave the city behind for a very different side of Japan. Roughly 90 minutes from central Tokyo, Enoshima and the surrounding Shonan coast trade crowded streets and neon for ocean air, local neighborhoods and a slower rhythm.

We’ll explore the island and its surrounding shores on a relaxed photographic journey through palm-lined streets, sandy beaches, rocky coastline and the everyday scenes of this laid-back seaside community. Along the way, we’ll photograph everything from crashing waves and sun-bleached surf culture to local characters, passing trains and quieter corners away from the crowds.

As the afternoon progresses, the changing coastal light becomes part of the experience. On clear days, Mt. Fuji rises across the water, while golden hour and sunset can completely transform the shoreline.

This experience is about slowing down, observing and responding to what we find — combining street photography, landscape and everyday life in a side of Japan that feels worlds away from central Tokyo.
