GAUCHO NINJA (UK)

We teamed up with Gaucho Ninja again for a true Tokyo experience with neon lit rooftops.

Gaucho Ninja design barefoot shoes that are not only ethical and sustainable, they are so comfortable that you will never want to take them off. Shoes that are good for your health, look good. and are incredibly crafted. Made by hand in England by skillful makers paid a fair wage.

As soon as we spoke with founder Lisandro, we could feel the passion and energy he had not only for the shoes but for Japan. Knowing that the shoes were heavily inspired by Japanese history and culture we thought it would be best to combine a bit of the old and the new. So off we went to one of the most iconic shrines in all of Japan, Asakusa, to do a modern version traditional streetwear shoot. Below are some of the photos from this campaign.

“As the owner of a Barefoot shoes brand in England, to be able to collaborate with photographers and producers is key for my business to grow. I sell my handmade shoes online. The quality of the photos must be outstanding to be able to attract customers willing to pay for bespoke shoes. Last Christmas I did a production in Tokyo with the amazing artists and photographers at Tekumi. To have an international service like this can be incredibly challenging and requires trust and effective communication. Working with Tekumi was not only easy and pleasant, but an incredible experience. The photos surpassed my expectations, the models formidable and the teamwork flowed as it should. My shoe brand specializes in Japanese split toe shoes. The connection with Japan is fundamental for my business. Having Tekumi on board in Tokyo makes the whole experience easier and better. I am currently collaborating with them for another shooting in Tokyo and looking forward to more collaborations soon.”
