80’s tokyo hostess Bar
Imagine a time where Japan was on the cusp of being the world’s largest economy. A decade of excess where legendary sums of money were made (and spent). There is no doubt the 80’s were Japans greatest decade and cities like Tokyo were one giant party and entertainment districts were at their peak. In this workshop we go retro recreating a hostess bar setting where the high flying salaryman would go to be pampered by beautiful women pouring drinks, lighting cigarettes, and seductively teasing with their conversation.

who + where we’ll be shooting
Join us as we’ll be renting an entire bar space in the very retro neighbourhood of Koenji. In this 2 hour workshop we’ll be shooting with two experienced models in seductive kimono making sure to pay attention to all details including hair and makeup for that true 80’s feel. We’ll also have a salary man customer in suit. We’ll explore the use of coloured LED’s to not only create the environment but to shape the light on the models. There will be 6 photographers maximum in the space and we make sure everyone has their chance to not only photograph but create real artwork with their own ideas. Like all of our workshops this is a truly unique experience and a chance to push your creativity, learn new skills, network with other creatives and have a ton of fun!
